Application Form

Around the globe there is a number of awards issued for outstanding effort in achievement of the UN MDG. This year, the UN MDG Award Committee has asked UN Agencies involved in helping to achieve the UN MDG, the various global committees that have recognized outstanding projects and member nations to nominate the project that they feel deserves special recognition as a UN MDG Award recipient. A panel of independent judges will vote on these projects and the results will be independently audited. The membership of the panel will be posted prior to the commencement of the selection process.

No member of the judging panel will be permitted to vote on a project in which he or she or an organization with which he or she is or was involved either directly or indirectly.

Special Recognition Winners

You are invited to register your project. On a continuing basis, approximately every three months, SPECIAL RECOGNITION UN MDG Awards will be given to projects throughout the globe.

To help these projects receive the recognition and support they deserve, the global community will be invited to vote on these projects as well. Voting is weighed on the basis of 1/3 public support, 2/3 panel of experts.

The panel of experts review projects for their impact, cost-effectiveness and ability to be duplicated.

Winners will be recognized online and in many cases at special hosted receptions and UN MDG Award partnership events.

Special Recognition Award Winner advantages include: Winners are automatically nominated for the 2009 MDG Award in their category. Winners are showcased on the UN MDG Awards website, giving them greater visibility. The increased visibility can result in greater support from the global public and the project’s core constituency. Winners will be considered eligible to be considered for online donations and other support from the UN MDG Awards Committee.
