Participate With Us
The UN MDG Awards event will showcase eight outstanding projects and those that have worked to achieve them, those works, and those that brought them to fruition are important, but that is not the end of the story. Each of us has a vested interest in helping to achieve the UN MDG, and the UN MDG Awards website will provide you the opportunity to showcase your personal efforts to help achieve the UN MDG whether on your own or in collaboration with colleagues or new friends you meet in our Social Network.
You will have an opportunity to have your work recognized by your peers, and the UN MDG Awards Commitee. If your work is selected, your project and you will be recognized at major local events that are UN MDG Award event partners, and you may be invited to join us at the 2009 UN MDG Awards event.

You can show your support for the Millennium Development Goals and generate recognition for the projects that you feel have the greatest impact on the issues that are important to you and to our world by voting for those projects that touch your heart.

The importance of your vote:
- It generates recognition for the projects you believe in
- The projects that receive the most votes will be in a position for greater support from foundations and corporate funds that have pledged to support the UN MDG
- The UN MDG Awards Committee will bring these projects to the attention of these groups
- Those that receive the most votes will be eligible for Special Recognition UN MDG Awards
- Votes generate visibility, which translates into greater support from the community at large in the form of volunteers and donations
