Dr. Dezso Benedek

An internationally recognized cultural anthropologist, Dr. Dezso Benedek is the director of the Asian Language Programs at the University of Georgia,USA where he teaches courses in Cultural Anthropology, Comparative Literature, and Asian Languages. He has conducted extensive anthropological research in Austronesia where he did humanitarian work with native populations and facilitated inoculation against infectious diseases. Dr. Benedek has also organized expeditions to the Mekong Delta and been involved in research and community development projects for the Eastern and Central European Roma populations. As a polyglot scholar, he has produced several dictionaries and ethnographies and serves as the Director of Culture and Education for the Humanitad Foundation. Dr. Benedek is also in charge of the Humanitad Foundation's study abroad programs and culture projects in China, Europe and Indonesia.
