Award Designer

William Ho, who created the UN MDG Award sculpture is an internationally renowned artist, thinker, writer and speaker famous for his poetic art creations, particularly in Chinese brush painting and sculptures from 60’ to award size. His art appears in international museums, galleries, public areas and venues such as the United Nations and Parliament Hill of Canada, as well as in important private and public collectors around the world. Mr. Ho's “One Heart Beat” single stroke concept brushstroke painting is the underlying foundation for the UN MDG Award. He sculpted the Award and presented the first of the individually made sculptures to United Nations Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon, 61st President of the General Assembly, Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa and H.E Leonel Antonio Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic, in recognition of their support and efforts to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Mr. Ho combines his concern for the suffering people of the world, and his backgrounds in art, culture, city planning, philosophy, poetry, writing, broadcasting, teaching and speaking, to travel world-wide to share his vision of Love, Hope, Life, Art and Nature, all of which are represented in the UN MDG Award.
